If you are running a Magento store or planning to invest in one, don’t miss this announcement!
Support for Magento 1 ends on June 2020
To entirely focus resources on the development and support of the Magento 2 platform, Magento has officially announced that Magento 1 will reach end-of-life on June 1, 2020. No quality fixes or security patches will be deployed for Magento Commerce (Enterprise Edition) or Magento Open Source (Community Edition) after this date.
When support ends, Magento 1 sites will become increasingly vulnerable to security threats and your site will receive no further features or innovations. It means that the security of your business would be at risk.
Support for Magento Commerce 2.2.x ends on December 31, 2019
Magento has released its last versions of Magento Commerce & Open Source – 2.3.3 and announced end-of-support for its older versions. It means that thousands of merchants will likely be stuck without access to new features and functionalities.
From November 30, 2019, PCI compliance for merchants using Magento Commerce 2.2.0-2.2.9 may be at risk too due to the end of support for PHP 7.1 and below. This can cause serious misplacement in credit card transactions.
