Starting June 15, 2023, our BSS Commerce project took off with an enthusiastic “crew” – a Project Manager, a Technical Lead, a Quality Control, and a dynamic team of 2 developers working on a flexible schedule.
The initiation phase involved a comprehensive audit of both existing Magento 1 and the prospective Magento 2 sites. This diagnostic phase aimed to understand the current setup, laying a solid foundation for subsequent enhancements.

Our solution for Winerack was a carefully crafted two-step process. First off, we suggested starting the journey with a thorough data migration process. Knowing that Magento 1 and Magento 2 have different ways of organizing data, we recommended following the best practices laid out by Magento. It not only made the process smoother but also ensured that Winerack’s data moved over seamlessly, keeping it intact and accurate. We steered clear of partial data imports to dodge any potential hiccups, giving a safe and hassle-free transition.
With data securely in place, the next strategic move in our proposed solution was to implement a fresh design using the Hyva theme. This step not only enhanced the visual appeal but also aligned with modern aesthetics, promising an elevated user experience for Winerack’s online platform.
UNVEILING OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
Post-project, the BSS Commerce team delivered outstanding results, showcasing a notable transformation in speed performance across key pages.
The Homepage, Category page, and Product page now boasted an impressive speed score range of 99-100 on Desktop, ensuring swift navigation for mobile users as well, with the Homepage scoring approximately 99 and the Category and Product pages achieving a commendable 94 to 98.
This enhancement underscored our commitment to optimizing Winerack’s digital performance, providing a seamless and responsive user experience across devices.
