Fusion Body Art is an Australian-owned company established by two brothers with decades of experience in the face and body art industry. Fusion Body Art face and body paints were created with the professional face painter in mind, providing high-quality cosmetic-grade ingredients at an affordable price with a professional look. Fusion’s range of water-activated face and body paints is highly pigmented yet easy to wash off. Fusion Body Art has also teamed up with professional face painter Leanne Courtney to create an exclusive range of products that will make your work stand out.

In recent years, their eCommerce footprint has grown significantly, and B2B now offers a significant chance for even more expansion.

💪 Challenge

Fusion Body Art intended to expand their e-commerce business to B2B/Wholesale while still selling B2C at the same time. Also, they did not want current B2C customers and visitors to be affected by any new B2B flow. Expanding to B2B selling, Fusion Body Art would like to show Shopify prices for all customers on the site and B2B/Wholesale prices for selected customers such as Local Wholesalers and International Wholesalers. In addition, wholesale customers are not supposed to be charged with tax so prices excluding tax need to be shown for them, while normal customers need to pay full prices with tax. At the same time, the client was looking for a solution in which wholesale customers did not have to pay upfront by credit card as normal B2C customers.

They also have a New Release collection and wanted to share the password with some specific customers to access it. When running a campaign, the client needed some indicators on products as well.

💡 Solution

In mid-2022, Fusion Body Art started reaching out and evaluating possible B2B solutions that would be able to work along with existing retail customers. Based on what has been set up in Shopify, they were able to create and trigger a brand new B2B channel on the same existing e-commerce website. Utilizing BSS Custom Pricing, Tax Display, Manual Orders, Net Terms, Passcode feature, and Product Labels app, they now can:

  • Set up different prices for different groups of customers
  • Show prices excluding tax on the website: This can show prices excluding tax for only B2B customers who log in to the store.
  • Place orders on behalf of any customers
  • Generate a brand new checkout flow in which selected customers do not have to pay by credit card
  • Lock any pages with passcode(s)
  • Show labels & badges on any selected products
  • Self-service ordering for customers with 24/7 access
  • Allow customers to self-service orders online at any time. 

✅ Result

The seamless integration of BSS Commerce with Shopify has resulted in several other significant enhancements: The business has expanded successfully to the B2B/Wholesale segment. This opens a great opportunity for shop owners who are selling or want to sell the same products. B2B customers can easily surf online with their own wholesale offers. Customers love Fusion Body Art products and new functionalities, which has resulted in 100% customer satisfaction. Fusion Body Art has increased 22% in sales so far.
