What is Widget?
A widget is a snippet of code that makes it possible to display a wide range of content and place it at specific block references in your store. Many widgets display real-time, dynamic data and create opportunities for your customer interact with your store. The configuration of widgets provide an easy way to place content such as static blocks with images and text and interactive elements most anywhere in your stores.
You can use widgets to create landing pages for marketing campaigns, display promotional content at specific throughout the store. Widgets can also be used to add interactive elements and action blocks for rating system, video, chats, vote, description form or navigation for tag image sliders.
Types of Widget default
CMS Page Link: Display a link to a selected page. Allow you to specify custom text title. It can be used in content pages and blocks.
CMS Static Block: Display a block of content at a specific location on a page. For example, the Mini Shopping Cart is a static block that can be placed by using the CMS Static Block widget.
Catalog Category Link: Display a link to a selected catalog category, allow you to customize content and title. Two templates are available: inline and block. When the link is complete, it can be used in content pages and blocks.
Catalog New Products List: Display a block of products which have been designated as new, for the duration of time specified in the product record.
Catalog Product Link: Display a link to a selected catalog product, allow you customize content and title. Two templates are available: inline and block, when completed link, it can be used for content pages and blocks.
Order and Return: Give guests the ability to check the status of their orders and submit requests to return merchandise. The widget appears only for guests and customers who are not logged in to their accounts.
Recently Compared Products: Display the built-in blocks of recently compared products. You can specify the number of products included, and format them as a list or product grid.
Recently Viewed Products: Display the built-in block of recently viewed products. You can specify the number of products included, and format them as a list or product grid.
Mini Shopping Cart: If the store has a responsive theme, the mini shopping cart widget can be used to display additional information, such as a banner or contact information, in the mini shopping cart.
